Gan Gani – Hebrew Immersion Program

Gan Gani, for children ages 2-4, is a Hebrew immersion program based on the premise that early acquisition of bilingual skills enhances intellectual and cognitive development.  In a nurturing and safe environment, pre-schoolers are taught Hebrew, learn about Israel, and study Jewish themes.  The children are also exposed to a wide variety of carefully selected activities as a means of promoting important areas of development including: fine and gross motor skills, cognitive and critical thinking, and social and emotional skills.  Aside from teaching Hebrew language skills, the intent of this curriculum is to foster self confidence through healthy social interactions with peers and teachers.  Music, conversations, creative arts, math, nature, and science are some of the means through which Hebrew, Jewish, and more general educational knowledge is acquired.  All these are based on the multi intelligence educational approach of Howard Gardner. A great thinker of modern informal education.

 As of today, the children in the program of Gan Gani are able to follow all daily instructions in Hebrew such as; Sit, Close the door, Wash your hands, Jump, close the door, as well as greetings and subjects related to colors, shapes and holidays.

They sing in Hebrew, listen and understand stories and are able to work creatively following Hebrew instructions. The participants find joy and pride in speaking Hebrew.  They showed remarkable progress in their Hebrew language skills and in domains such as fine motor skills as evidenced by their ability to hold and write with pencils, draw with markers, and cut with scissors.  They are extremely caring and friendly towards each other and their teachers. 

 We are thankful for having encored your trust and for the privilege of  being your child’s pre-school educators. We are looking forward to continuing next year with this sacred mission.
